Our Contribution to the Environment

BeMistre Home Accessories as a business stands for the betterment of our environment. We don’t just say it; rather we carved it into our ecosystem to make sure that we contribute to a better and clean environment.

We operate in an ecosystem that uses the concept of recycling. Our pieces are made of natural raw materials and recycled waste plastics, such as plastic bags, plastic packages, plastic rubbers, electric cables, glass residue and others. This greatly impacts the environment positively by reducing pollution that would have been caused by the waste listed above and substituting manufactured products, as the manufacturing process pollutes the environment.

Our products are handmade; the process does not create any kind of waste that can pollute the environment rather it recycles.

BeMistre Home Accessories is a company that endorses being environmentally friendly while maintaining the texture and durability. We collect or buy recyclable materials from individuals or groups of people that will get better prices taking into account the price of the finished product meaning because they work with us they earn better. We see these suppliers as a core part of our business and try to train them in safety procedures.

We have a unique collection of home décor and furniture products that will add glamour and class to any interior work.  Each piece is handmade with full attention and care, which is the reason behind our constant delivery of authentic and original work with unique aesthetics and meaning.

Our sourcing practices

We source most of our raw materials from stigmatized women due to the nature of their profession; People who are involved in handicrafts in Ethiopia have been stigmatized in their communities historically and their profession has been undermined due to lack of awareness,. When we source from these women we can see that we are empowering them to make decisions In their families and communities by improving their financial situation and their quality of life, these raw materials are semi-processed and are handmade in many rural households by unemployed women and housewives additionally when we source our raw materials we buy directly from the primary source( women producers and artisans) with no middlemen involved which gives them a huge advantage in their pricing.
